EV Charging in Galway
If you have or you are considering buying an electric vehicle, you may need a charging point installed at home. While it may be tempting to consider installing yourself, it is best to get a qualified electrician who is experienced with EV charging points so your system performs efficiently, is right for your needs and is completely safe to use.
Consultation: Our team will first consult with you to assess your property's suitability for an EV charging point and understand your charging needs.
Design: We will design a custom EV charging point system that meets your energy requirements and complements your property's architecture.
Installation: Our team will install the EV charging point, wiring, and electrical components to ensure that the system is fully functional.
Maintenance: We offer comprehensive maintenance services to ensure that your EV charging point is always operating optimally.
There are two types of connectors used to connect your EV to your charging point. Depending on the vehicle, you may need a Type 1 or a Type 2 connection.
You can choose from a 3kw, 7kw or 22kw charging point for your EV. The higher the wattage, the quicker your vehicle will charge. A 22kw charger will also need a three phase electricity supply and some vehicles are not designed for this type of charge. Please check your vehicle manufacturer to see what wattage you can use.
You can choose between a tethered or a non-tethered system.
Tethered charging points come with a built in cable that you can just connect to your vehicle. For safe storage, the cable usually wraps around the charging unit.
A non-tethered system comes with a separate cable, which you will have to purchase yourself. This makes for a tidier appearance, and if you change your car to one with a different connector, you only need to buy a new cable.
